Allan ‘Think’ Kioko is a visual artist, illustrator and muralist based at the Karen Village, Nairobi, Kenya. He is a member of the BSQ graffiti collective. He grew his skill under the tutelage of veteran artist Patrick Mukabi at the Dust Depo Art Studio. He is an expressive painter and a lover of bold strokes, color and texture. His art is primarily done using acrylics on canvas and watercolor on paper. Deemed as thought provoking, humorous and sometimes controversial, he draws inspiration from his own life experiences, places. 

Kioko’s artwork have been exhibited at The National Museum of Kenya, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Karen Golf Club, Safaricom Michael Joseph Centre, Sanaa Festival (Adelaide, Australia), United Nations HQ (Gigiri, Nairobi, Kenya). 

Awards won include: a commendation award from the MASK prize competition (2018). He came in Second Place at the prestigious Manjano Art Competition (2019 – Professional Category). Just like his mentor, Kioko is also an aspiring art teacher and has recently been teaching art at the Aga Khan Primary School’s Deaf Unit.
