Bunkers, time to join us for our weekend film binge at the library by @Docubox - The East African Documentary Film Fund!
This Saturday we ares screening film Matthias de Groof’s Palimpsest of the African Museum. The film documents the renovation of the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Brussels in 2013. The renovation is not just the building but also the decolonisation of the museum and it's artefacts. What ensues is a process of decolonisation that elicits fierce debates as they examine it’s deeply colonial past.

Save the date and join us this Saturday on 18th June!

Tomorrow, at the Eastlands Library and Kaloleni Library, we will be screening @Christine Turner’s 2021 short film “Lynching Postcards: Token of a Great Day.” During 1880-1968 over 4,000 African Americans were lynched at the hands of white mobs. This film examines this horrific history of lynchings as cultural events and celebrations that included souvenirs and postcards.

See you on Saturday at noon!
